Płock makes three serious signings

PLOCK, Poland. Feb 02 — Wisla Plock have signed contracts with three new players for the Unibet I Liga spring season. Starting the new round with Plock will be: Lukasz Juszkiewicz, Marcin Nowacki and Lukasz Nadolski.

Juszkiewicz in the last three years played for Widzew Lodz (contract expired on 31 December last year). The 27-year-old defensive midfielder who played 101 games in the Polish Ekstraklasa (also with Gornik Zabrze), signed a contract with Wisla to 2011.

Experience of playing in the Polish top flight also has Nowacki (157 games) who played for such clubs as Odra Wodzislaw, Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski, and recently Ruch Chorzow. The 29-year-old offensive midfielder signed a contract until June 2012.

Meanwhile Lukasz Nadolski, the 22-year-old defender who last played in the Norwegian club Sogndal Fotball also signed until 2012.

"We have made these transfers, because we are not only thinking about the current season, but also the next." says Wisla president Jerzy Ozog.

"We want to keep fighting for something more than just surviving to stay the league,"

After 19 rounds the Plock club has found itself in 15th place (18 points), indicating possible relegation to the Second Division (Third Division) if things are not changed.

Wisla General manager Jan Zlomanczuk took up the head coach position near the of the season after controversial coach Dariusz Kubicki was sacked due to poor results.
