POZNAN, Poland. July 6 (PS) — Euzebiusz Smolarek was offered to play for KKS Lech Poznan to help for UEFA Champions League qualification.

However, the player rejected the offer of the Polish champion.

Ebi Smolarek this summer has a free hand in seeking out a new club because AO Kavala FC is looking to get rid of him in other to save some of it's budget.

The 29-year-old also had a mediocre season at the Greek Super League club, after spending almost a year without a club before joining.

The player was contacted by Lech Poznan, who offered him a salary between 350-400 thousand euros - a record for the Polish Ekstraklasa. Unfortunately, the Polish star rejected the offer.

The problem? Smolarek wanted an additional half a million euros for his signature on the Lech contract.

Not to mention the Polish club must also pay the Greeks, who will not let the Pole leave for free. It seems Ebi's chances of joining the Polish UEFA Champions League qualifying team have become non-existent.

Luckily, Smolarek does not have a lack of job offers. He has already been linked to clubs from China, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Germany and Israel.
