WARSAW, Poland. July 26 (PS) — KSP Polonia Warszawa have signed free-agent Euzebiusz Smolarek - reports Przegląd Sportowy.

The 29-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the capital city club.

The Polish international striker still needs to do a medical test in Warsaw before the agreement is finalized.

"He is still waiting to do the medical tests. If the test results do not turn out successfully, the contract that he signed with us will be invalid," said Blackshirt's owner Jozef Wojciechowski.

"We signed a contract with him so that he can resolve peacefully his agreement with Kavala on Sunday. Such was his condition, he did not want to be without a club." adds Wojciechowski.

"I've always liked Smolarek, and I am very delighted to have finally say that I have signed him to my club."

Ebi Smolarek has to first come to Warsaw, where on Tuesday he will likely be able to pass his medical test and will be presented as a new player of Polonia.

The 43-capped Polish international has never previously played in the Polish Ekstraklasa, but has been recently linked with clubs Polonia Bytom, Slask Wroclaw and KKS Lech Poznan.

Smolarek leaves AO Kavala FC after finishing the Greek Super League season with 15 appearances and 3 goals fired.

Very sad to hear, Good players start their careers in Poland, and end them in Poland. Lookes like he's ending his in Poland. I will alwyas love and support him and support Poland; Ebi was good when poland was good, and I lived it. Poland wont be as good as they were in 2006-2008 for a long time. Good luck Ebi, we will be watching and supporting you in Bytom if you go there.
