WARSAW, Poland. Feb 07 — Serbia, Italy, now the UEFA EURO 2008 champions? Correct. The Polish Football Association (PZPN) have announced the contracted friendly match against Spain.

The Polish national team will play the friendly on June 8 against Spain in Madrid. This is the news announced by PZPN president Grzegorz Lato on Sunday after the draw ceremony of the UEFA EURO 2012 groups.

The news of the anticipated friendly was also confirmed back in Spain, as quoted by the Spanish agency APA Spain coach Vicente del Bosque confirmed the Poland match.

"For the moment the friendly with Bulgaria (3 March) is 100%, now we are working on the match with Spain. The case is actually inevitable, the match will be held on June 8 in Madrid just before the departure of Spaniards for the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa," said Grzegorz Lato.

The PZPN president also added that at the end of May Franciszek Smuda's kadra will very likely play with Serbia, while the match against Honduras has stood still in speculation. This is due to problems on the Polish FA's end. The match will be held at the white and red's training camp in Austria.

Poland are also to play FIFA World Cup 2006 champions Italy in August during the official opening of the stadium in Poznan.

Finland were to be Poland's friendly rival during March, but that fixture has been canceled until further notice. The Polish FA are currently looking for a suitable replacement, with a number of countries showing great interest in facing the Poles.

It is possible that instead of Finland the Bialo-czerwoni will play with Ghana, which has expressed willingness to come to Poland. Ghana competed as a finalist in the 2010 African Cup of Nations. The game against Poland would cost about 200 thousand dollars for the Ghana FA.

Smuda's team also has offers from Algeria, South Korea, Australia, Iran and Costa Rica. Another potential rival of the Poles are also supposed to be England.
