DOETINCHEM, The Netherlands. Mar 3 (UEFA) — The Netherlands have one foot in next summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Denmark after beating Poland 3-2 to take a six-point lead at the top of Group 4.
Cor Pot's side fell behind to Polish captain Mateusz Cetnarski's low shot from the edge of the penalty area midway through the first half, and were fortunate not to be two down on the stroke of half-time when Kamil Grosicki's effort hit the crossbar.
Siem de Jong headed home Daley Blind's cross to secure victory for the Jong Orange although Jacek Kielb's strike eight minutes from time made for a nervy close.
