WARSAW, Poland. Mar 3 (PS) — The Polish national team defeated Bulgaria 2-0 in a friendly match on Wednesday played at the stadium of KP Polonia in Warsaw.

Goals for the Polish side, which for the first time in history occurred in a dark navy kit, scored Jakub Blaszczykowski and Robert Lewandowski.

In most of the first half of the match there was mostly boredom, neither of the teams could create any convenient situation to score a goal, there were no serious shots at net, and the pace was quite slow.

If there were was any near goal situation, it would be for the visiting Bulgarians. A dangerous situation for the Polish defense occurred after ball giveaway by goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak. Manchester United teammate Dimitar Berbatov tried to take advantage of the opportunity but the striker was unable to give a precise enough shot - only hitting the top goal bar.

The Poles fiercely attacked only in the last minutes of the first half of the game, but once they did, they did it effectively. In the 42. minute after a long ball by Kuszczak went to Robert Lewandowski, where the Lech Poznan quickly player headed the ball to the open Jakub Blaszczykowski.

The Borussia Dortmund winger dribbled past one of his opponents to show off a spectacular strike into the corner goal, beating Bulgaria goalkeeper Dimitar Ivankov.

In the second half the Poles played a little better, creating more goal chances. Especially when one of them helped increase the goal total to 2:0 for Poland. Blaszczykowski began on a counterattack, which he consciously passed to assist man Lewandowski. The 21-year-old would finish with a powerful shot, ending Bulgaria's chances of winning and cementing another Poland win for Franciszek Smuda's kadra.

Dont get carried away. The Bugarian team did not look interested. The two goals came from long balls that were punted forward and a more organised defence would have dealt with them easily.
Apart from the goal Lewandowskis contribution was pitiful. He showed no movement which made it difficult for the midfield to create anything.

Looked real good in the second half. We play well vs other Slavic countries for the most part. We don't have a self esteem problem like we have against other euro teams. Another thing when we score first we play with more confidence and are hard to beat.
