WARSAW, Poland. Mar 4 (Sport) — Polish international star Jakub Blaszczykowski played a very good match against Bulgaria, one of his best in recent times.

The Borussia Dortmund football player scored a goal and assisted on the second goal by Robert Lewandowski. How did he evaluate this match?

"It was a good match, and importantly of all a very good end result." Blaszczykowski said after the match.

"There was a lot of fighting going on, it was a tough game. We were 2 goals better than the Bulgarians and I think we won deservedly. We left a lot of heart on the pitch, so we are returning in good humor back to our clubs."

Blaszczykowski did not forget to mention that Franciszek Smuda's coaching role on the national team is still growing, and results should not always be immediately expected.

"There needs to be a little bit more time for everything to go as planned. This is normal, when a coach is changed and he wants you to play his way - there is always a needed period of time before this begins to happen. You don't always have the same situations in training that you would encounter during a match. There is always a moment, where you have to make a split decision, and whether it works out or not is by chance."

Meanwhile, 'Kuba' rates the game against Bulgaria a success especially thanks to being allowed more freedom on the offensive with striker Robert Lewandowski.

"I'm sure we had a little bit of luck on our side, but I also think the team deserved the win, we showed a lot of fighting. Me and Robert had less defensive orders so we were able to press forward a lot more and I think that paid off really well."

"I do, however, rate what our players in defense did. They had to do a lot of work in order to prevent the Bulgarians any space."
