WARSAW, Poland. Feb 06 — Henryk Kasperczak may soon be returning to the coaching bench - for a FIFA 2010 World Cup team in South Africa.

The experienced coach recently turned down an offer from Greek outfit AO Kavala FC, because he is expecting to coach Nigeria soon - informs Fakt.

"I do not want to dwell on it. We simple did not have an understanding with each other and that is it," says the former Gornik Zabrze boss.

Despite refusing to sign with Kavala, Kasperczak says he may soon be return to the coaching bench.

"I am open to interesting offers. Especially for a strong team to lead in Africa,"

This strong team may be perhaps Nigeria. Six years ago the Nigerian Football Association wanted to sign the Pole but was unable to, however now they have come back to propose a new offer.

"It was impossible then, because I had a valid contract with Wisla Krakow. Now the situation is different. " 'Henri' says mysteriously.

The Pole has plenty experience coaching in Africa, having already done so coaching Cote d'Ivoire, Mali, Tunisia, Morocco and most recently Senegal. The high point of his coaching career in Africa was when he led Tunisia to win silver at the 1996 African Nations Cup and qualify for the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.

Nigeria, who recently fired their previous coach is looking for an experienced replacement that can guarantee results in this years World Cup. Kasperczak is said to be one of the leading candidates for the job.

"After a very successful performance at the African Nations Cup, we were bound to change our coach. I think that Kasperczak has a chance to work here. He's a great coach, and well-known in Africa." says Znicz Pruszkow's 31-year-old Emmanuel Ekwueme, a former representative of Nigeria.
