FLORENCE, Italy. July 12 (PS) — ACF Fiorentina have announced on its website that it has agreed with Celtic FC on the transfer of Artur Boruc.

The Polish goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with the Italians after passing medical tests.

The official website of Fiorentina did not give any exact details on the transfer agreement yet.

Unofficially, the media in Italy have reported that Boruc signed a contract for two years, that is renewable for another year. According to Italian news agency Ansa, the Polish goalkeeper is expected to have cost the Serie A outfit about two million.

"Artur Boruc is a Fiorentina player. The transfer has already been determined by Pantaleo Corvino (sporting director, 'Viola') Fiorentina will pay £1.7 million because his contract expires in 2011," reveals Sky television expert, Gianluca Di Marzio.

At this time, the number one for Fiorentina is 30-year-old goalkeeper Sebastien Frey. According to Italian media, the transfer Boruc does not mean that the experienced and respected Frenchman will have to say goodbye to Florence based club

Fiorentina's owner is a known businessman, owner of the business company dealing with leather goods and clothing - Diego Della Valle. The club, which last season ranked only in 11th position in Serie A, are to travel on Thursday for a training camp to the mountain resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Boruc's new coach is a former representative of Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia), Sinisa Mihailovic. In the previous season, he lead another club in the Serie A - Catania, where fellow countryman Blazej Augustyn played.
